For a BOY to become a Scout at Troop 55, he or his parents need to submit the following:

1. BSA registration form.
For a Scout application, please contact the Registrar, Scoutmaster or Troop Committee Chair.
You do not need to provide the $10 registration fee as stated on the form (T-55 will pay the fee).

2. BSA medical form.
BSA has introduced a new medical form for use beginning in January 2009. This form is for both youth and adult members. The medical information on this form needs to be updated ANNUALLY.

Parts A and C of this medical form are needed prior to participation in weekend campouts or in-town activities. Parts A and C do not require a doctor's exam.

Part B of this form does require a doctor's exam. Part B is needed prior to summer camp, any high-adventure activity, or various other activities as described on the form.

3. Dues check payable to "Troop 55".

The annual fee is $125 for the first Scout and $100 for additional Scouts in the same family.
The dues are normally collected in Sep-Oct of each year. New scouts joining in Jan-Mar pay the full annual fee as they receive a T-55 neckerchief, handbook and other items upon joining. New scouts who join at the end of the school year normally pay a prorated dues.

5. Deliver your forms. These documents can be delivered or mailed to the T-55 Registrar, the Troop Committee Chair, or the Scoutmaster. Please do not send these documents directly to the Scout Office. For link to addresses, click here.

For an ADULT to become a registered leader at Troop 55, he/she needs to submit the following:

No payment is required. T-55 will pay the registration fee.

4. Take Youth Protection Training. In addition to these documents, all adult leaders at T-55 must take Youth Protection Training plus the specific training for the position in which they wish to serve (Asst Scoutmaster, Merit Badge Counselor, etc).
