Drug and Alcohol Talk

Drug Talk
Date: Sunday, October 1, 2023
Location: SJD Scoutroom
Time: 2-4pm

FCT Requirements:
SC 7c Participate in a school, community, or troop program on the dangers of using drugs, alcohol, and tobacco and other practices that could be harmful to your health. Discuss your participation in the program with your family, and explain the dangers of substance addictions. Report to your Scoutmaster or other adult leader in your troop about which parts of the Scout Oath and Scout Law relate to what you learned.

FCT Physical Fitness and Scout Rank Intensive

Tenderfoot Physical Fitness Requirements 6a, 6b, and 6c at the Memorial Park Timing Track from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

From 1:30 to 3:00 PM, we will have a session to focus on needed requirements for the Scout Rank.

You must signup for a time slot.

 

Make-up Swim Test & FCT Swim Requirements

  • When: Saturday, September 23, 2023

  • Time: 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
  • Location: Bellaire Family Aquatics Pool, 7001 5th St, Bellaire TX 77401
  • Intended for: FCT Scouts, Instructors, and Troop Guides

2nd Class First Aid

FCT Sunday – Second Class First Aid

When: Sunday, September 10, 2023
Time: 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Location: SJD Scout Room
Intended for: FCT Scouts, Instructors and Troop Guides, Star Scouts needing Life #6

Requirements to be taught:
Second Class First Aid SC 6a Demonstrate First Aid for the Following:

  • Object in the eye
  • Bite of a suspected rabid animal
  • Puncture wounds from a splinter, nail, and fishhook
  • Serious burns (partial thickness, or second-degree)
  • Heat exhaustion
  • Shock
  • Heatstroke, dehydration, hypothermia, and hyperventilation

SC 6b Show what to do for “hurry” cases of stopped breathing, stroke, severe bleeding, and ingested poisoning
SC 6c Tell what you can do while on a campout or hike to prevent or reduce the occurrence of the injuries listed in Second Class requirements 6a and 6b
SC 6d Explain what to do in case of accidents that require emergency response in the home and backcountry. Explain what constitutes an emergency and what information you will need to provide to a responder.
SC 6e Tell how you should respond if you come upon the scene of a vehicular accident.
